About the Series

The following collections of journals were recovered from a caravan outside of Duluth, Minnesota. The exact date of recovery is not known nor is the origin of the speaker. The Bureau for the Restoration of History (BFRH) would like help in identifying the man who kept these records. This unedited record of events is still considered the most accurate history of the apocalypse that occurred on April 15th, 2011.

Hello! Welcome to the homepage for the blog and book series The Greenland Diaries. My name is Patrick W. Marsh and I’m the author and creator. The Greenland Diaries is a first-person narration in the form of journal entries. The speaker is trying to survive a horrible plant-powered apocalypse that starts randomly one April evening. The narrator encounters monsters on a nightly basis. They’re faceless creatures that appear when a distant drum sounds from some unknown location. Besides these abominations, and their various versions, the narrator must also dodge stray bullets, weather, hunger, thirst, and boredom, as he uses this journal to maintain a desperate sense of sanity. The narrator and main character isn’t some special forces veteran who can unleash Steven Seagal level violence. He’s a regular guy, with a background in customer service, and very little practical knowledge. You are completely at the whim of his clumsy narration through the journal form; therefore, you’re as terrified and clueless as he is cowering in the monster’s shadows.

I originally started The Greenland Diaries when I returned to college in 2012. To get back in the groove with writing fiction, I decided to write a blog via Blogspot called The Greenland Diaries. I made the blog entries like those you’d see in your standard diary. It was easy to maintain the blog because I was comfortable with the style. It seemed natural to me. I also knew that if I put it in the public eye I’d feel more committed to it’s longevity, though at first only family and friends would read it out of pity. After 30,000 views, I decided to make it into a book series and self-publish it via Amazon. The raw journal format is perfect for self-publishing. If you’re interested in purchasing the  books and artwork, click here to be taken to the store (or you can go to Amazon, but if you buy them from me, I’ll pay for shipping, sign them and doodle and rant).

*If you want to learn more about me and my other books, you can visit my personal site by clicking here. I love monsters. I use them to express myself and the things I’ve been through. I love writing. I use writing to express myself and the things I’ve been through.

Thank you for your support and for viewing my page!

1. Do not move when the drum sounds

2. Do not look in the mirrors

  1. First of all and most of all I want to thank you for pressing Follow. I hope to live up to that honor. Second of all I’m off to sleep, so am a bit foggy to continue writing much more – but i will try to understand and follow your site.
